Helen Weston was the first woman to serve as Lincoln County Commissioner. She died while serving in office. Her husband George Weston, established a scholarship fund in her memory and began giving awards of the interest monies in 1991.
This Scholarship is merit based, awarded to a Republican student from Lincoln County who will study Government and/or Politics. Students residing in Lincoln County attending Medomak Valley High School, The Coastal Christian School, Lincoln Academy, Boothbay Regional High School, Wiscasset High School, and Wiscasset Christian Academy.
