Dear Citizens of Maine,
We stand at a crossroads, where the future of our state hangs in the balance, threatened by the mismanagement and misguided policies of Governor Janet Mills. It is time for us to band together, not as Democrats or Republicans, but as Mainers who demand better for our state.
Economic Despair: Under Janet Mills' governance, Maine has become a welfare state, with policies that strangle small businesses with new taxes and regulations. The so-called "vacation, I mean care act" has added financial burdens that have forced many of our local enterprises into closure, leaving our communities economically drained. Instead of fostering growth, we've seen an increase in poverty and dependency, with our tax dollars being squandered on initiatives that do little to benefit the average Mainer.
Public Safety Compromised: The safety of our families has been jeopardized by the governor's soft approach to crime. Her support for bail reforms akin to those in New York and California has led to a revolving door for criminals, including pedophiles, drug dealers, and violent offenders. This isn't just about numbers; it's about the real fear that our children are no longer safe in their own neighborhoods.
Border and Immigration Policies: Mills has shown a disturbing preference for accommodating undocumented immigrants over addressing the needs of lifelong Maine residents. This has not only strained our resources but also has led to an increase in organized crime and drug trafficking, further deteriorating the quality of life in our state.
Education and Infrastructure Neglect: Our education system is faltering under her watch, with no significant improvements in student outcomes. Meanwhile, infrastructure projects are either delayed or mismanaged, leaving our towns with subpar services and crumbling roads. Environmental and Energy Policies: The push for green initiatives has been more about political posturing than practical solutions. The NECEC Corridor, for example, promised much but delivered little in terms of actual benefits to Mainers, while potentially harming our local environment. Lack of Transparency and Accountability: There's been a notable lack of accountability, with decisions often made behind closed doors. The recent vote of no confidence by child welfare workers against Director Bobbi Johnson, supported by Mills, is a stark reminder of how those in power dismiss the concerns and safety of both workers and the children they serve......Continue to read the article by clicking on the picture and remember to sign the petition.
